Laundry Attendant

SUMMARY

The role holder will contribute to the performance of the under the direct supervision of the Laundry Supervisor; is responsible to ensures smooth operation of the laundry and linen room by actively involving in sorting, marking, pressing, washing, dry cleaning, spotting and packing tasks. Trains new team members to the standard required by hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties

  • Answer the telephone in an efficient, courteous manner within 3 rings.
  • Provides quick courteous response to express requests.
  • Responds to walk-in and telephone requests and provide or send item to the guests or requester.
  • Responsible of taking weekly occupancy and write on the communication board in a daily basis.
  • Responsible for laundry processing in-house guest.
  • Ensure that the guest laundry receive with laundry slip and with full details of guest i.e. name, room number, signature.
  • If any special guest request is there update on the board and need to follow up.
  • Express laundry & pressing has deliver to guest with in the standard time.
  • All laundries upon receiving & delivery need update in the receiving log.
  • Responsible to charging guest laundry bill to the rooms through Micros.
  • key has to sign in and sign out in the master key log.
  • Qualities of the guest garments have to check before delivery and if any stain which is not possible to remove has to go with the stain card.
  • DND procedure need to follow up.
  • DND and No post laundries have to handover to the next shift.
  • Ensure to fill the discount form /void form (if any) with Supervisor’s signature and forward to .
  • Responsible of maintaining laundry delivery trolley and laundry area every other day.
  • Fully trained on chemical handling and health and safety procedures.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the laundry policies, systems, procedures and standards are followed on the floor.
  • Ensure safety and hygiene standards are followed in the Laundry.
  • Maintain discipline.
  • Check all safety systems in the Laundry and ensure that any defect is reported to the Landry supervisor in time.
  • Check the serviceability of all equipment in the allocated section.
  • Reports all maintenance orders.

Occasional Responsibilities

  • Assists in conducting physical inventory of laundry equipment and linen, chemicals, guest supplies and various assets as scheduled.
  • Assists Supervisor in special tasks such as stores set up, equipment movements, periodic preventive cleaning etc.

Legal Responsibilities

  • Carries out all the duties in compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Is responsible to ensure Guest laundry and other linen and upholstery materials given for cleaning are finished as per standards while ensuring utmost care is taken to all items.
  • Any unusual activities to be reported to Supervisor in timely manner.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Is physically fit to lift and carry heavy objects and move flexibly.
  • Ability to communicate via written and spoken in English.
  • Has Basic knowledge in Laundry chemicals and tools

CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION

  • 1 year experience as a Laundry Attendant, in a 4 star though preferably a 5 star hotel.
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively in English, Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
  • Has strong will to work very flexible working hours and has the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have basic knowledge Washing, Dry-cleaning, Pressing processes, chemicals and equipment usage.

SUMMARY
The role holder will contribute to the performance of the hotel by facilitating the skills he /she has acquired through past experiences in the Sales Department. The Cluster Sales Manager –Corporate and Government Accounts is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in the market segments. He / She is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. The Cluster Sales Manager is responsible for an increase in transient / group room revenue by increasing production of existing accounts. He / She is also responsible for month-end reporting and tracking of account production.

To support the Cluster Director of Sales & / Cluster Sales Team / Hotel(s) in achieving revenue targets for each of the hotels under Wyndham Dubai Deira Cluster by conducting local and international sales field activities.

To promote Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Group portfolio of hotels towards partners aiming to deliver individual and collective sales objectives with a “can do” attitude and mindset that strives to exceed revenue targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Market and Product Knowledge

To develop a good knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering & PMS systems.
Be fully familiar with the hotels product and service offering and its USPs.
Be aware of the latest market trends and share relevant information with the key stake holders within the hotel / department.
Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
Conduct on client room nights/revenue performance, prepare account performance reports quarterly and annually, conduct semi-annual account review meetings with account representatives.
Maintain high level of knowledge of the competition’s product and their current market offers.
Prepare monthly action plan for main market segment.
Be aware of the best hospitality sales practices and aspire to inculcate the same.

Client Relationship Management

Develop a cordial and professional client relationship with all contacts within the client base.
Constantly strive to engage – improve – strengthen business relationships with key clients and enhance product knowledge amongst client base by entertaining them within the properties
Conduct sales calls, manage Fam Trips and site inspections
Acknowledge all customers and handle guest complaints to their satisfaction.
Participate in trade shows, community & professional organizations to maintain high visibility.
Meet and greet onsite contacts and showcase the hotel.

Promoting

Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections.
Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments.
Coordinate Fam trips with help of Cluster Sales Coordinator.

Administrative

Maintain accounts, contact, and sales activities within the appropriate applications.
Contribute to preparation of slides for month end post- mortems, Hotel revenue meeting and BRM meetings.
Preparation of pre and post sales trip reports including dedicated market intelligence on the assigned countries
Prepare and complete promotion release form whenever applicable

Leadership

Identify revenue growth opportunities available in countries / regions / partners portfolio assigned and recommend actions to be driven
Support the hotel’s revenue streams beyond room business and regular upselling proposal
Maintaining a business environment based on the Code of Conduct and Company Vision
Maintain and enhance the open-door policy to all associates providing advice and guidance when needed in regards to their issues or concerns and/or grievances
Responsible for People leadership of direct reports (recruitment and selection, performance management (Appraisal/PDP), associate development and motivation, counselling / disciplinary issues.
Conduct regular coaching sessions/1:1s with direct reports
Support Assistant Director / Cluster Director of S&M in finding and developing new partners
Coordinate special promotional events for key clients, decision makers and influencers such as the General Manager’s monthly entertainments, customer appreciation parties, etc.
Build and maintain positive relations with the International Sales Offices.
Plan and conduct overseas sales trips in order to reinforce current accounts, obtain market intelligence and identify opportunities to drive business
Participate in relevant trade shows and exhibitions to promote the hotel Group
Execute segment strategies, tactics and sales plans
Recommend preferred partnership agreements to be made within account portfolio
Develop and maintain business relationships with key personnel within account and market portfolio
Maintain active liaison with competitors, through personal contacts, professional and industry associations

SUMMARY

The Quality & Training Manager will contribute to the performance of the hotel by managing and leading the Learning and Development function. Assist with guests’ deliveries & postal requirements and track in an appropriate manner.
Assist housekeeping with guest requests.
Arrange amenities for arriving and inhouse guests (special occasions & VIPs) and arrange special room set up requests with Housekeeping / Room Service.
Ensure lobby is clean and functioning up to standard e.g. reader board is working and up to date, lights are all working, no broken furniture, no markings or paint chips on the wall, desks clean and desk stationary all working. Ensure any issues are reported.
Reports any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries noted across the hotel.
Communicates with other departments in a friendly and professional manner.
Follows the WH&R safety and security policies and procedures.
Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
Supports all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
Stands, sits or walks for an extended period of time for an entire work shift.
Speaks with others using clear and professional language and answers telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Maintains awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Duty Manager.
