HIRING for NUST CHIP DESIGN CENTRE

NUST Chip Design Centre (NCDC) is a PSDP funded project with an aim to support and enhance the fabless chip design ecosystem in Pakistan.

Situated in NUST H-12 Islamabad, following positions are available for passionate and talented individuals to join the NCDC core team: Professor, Consultant, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, IC Designers (Core Team), and Trainees (Junior IC Designer in Core Team).

The ideal candidate for senior roles will have extensive academic and/or industrial experience in chip design, tape-outs, and leadership roles, with the ability to train, mentor, and lead advanced research in this domain.

Responsibilities include working collaboratively with academic and industry partners to drive innovation and excellence in chip design and verification; spearheading research initiatives and fostering partnerships with industry to advance cutting-edge developments in chip design; leading and overseeing complex chip design projects with the design group; building a strong ecosystem for chip-design training including teaching, assessments, execution and curriculum design; overseeing and carrying out chip design tasks; designing and testing ICs for various applications; conducting hands-on labs in chip design trainings; collaborating with project team members on IC design projects; and participating in project planning and progress meetings.

Qualifications: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant discipline for Professor/Consultant; PhD/MS Engineering in EECE or relevant discipline for Associate/Assistant Professor; BS/MS Engineering in EE/CE or relevant discipline for IC Designer and Trainee positions.

Experience in Analog, Digital, or Mixed-Signal IC Design using semiconductor PDKs or Digital Design Verification is required for technical roles.

Salary is as per PPS scales (PPS 09 to PPS 05).
