To drive the commercial agenda for assigned categories by devising effective channel strategies and translating them into powerful plans, leading the demand management process, ensuring resource sufficiency to deliver forecast & by smart revenue management.
b) Principal Responsibilities:
Cluster Category Planning & Activation
Work with the team to develop and deploy best in class BTL and trade activation plans tailored to the needs of each cluster. Ensure onwards communication and on time implementation of all agreed category activation plans.
Own the assigned category’s Activation Grid and ensure its impact is sufficiently captured in the demand planning process.
Ensure alignment of all stakeholders on the equity & activation plans.
Develop, deploy align requirements for POS material, visibility requirements based on 5P Picture of Success; forecasting, stock management & allocation; execution directives and KPI’s, etc. supported by compelling fact-based Ready-to-sell (RTS) commercial propositions.
Manage Category Planning Cycle
Own the demand planning process for the assigned category working closely with the Demand Team.
Be accountable for category forecasts, phasing and the Building Blocks of each category.
Anticipate and highlight opportunity and risks for all categories.
Create forums to periodically review business performance with stakeholders. Recommend change in strategies and plans if required.
Ensure budgetary allocations by cluster are made activity based and are in sync with the demand reflected in the SnOP cycle.
Manage and periodically report all trade spend budgets and ensuring judicious investments. Ensure spends are in line with activities reflected in Category Activity Grid.
Channel, Category and Shopper Agenda.
Lead development Channel sales strategies, review and advice on policies – pricing, products mix, portfolio planning.
Define the Category mandate for each channel by developing Picture of Success document by channel for the sales team.
Identify and communicate to the wider organization including the sales team our category growth levers. The Category Channel Growth Strategy document will be used for this purpose.
Actively track launch/activation implementation and performance, also conducting post-evaluations to be shared with the commercial organization.
Work with the team to articulate the portfolio/pricing architecture of assigned categories and channels.
Ensure development of compelling plans to maximize revenue per sales unit.
Drive efficiencies in trade spending to maximize returns on investment.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred: Master’s Degree
+8 Years of overall experience
