Forklift Operator

Synopsis

To control inventory, oversee daily tasks and processes and organize small teams within specific areas of Stores operation. To ensure that information relating to the performance of the work is clearly communicated to the team and effectively employed.

Accountabilities

Actively support the ordering personnel within the department in monitoring inventory and current consumption of stock items. Ensure that the established processes are applied for the receipt of goods into Stores, issue, decant and delivery of the same. Regularly review stock held and product consumption and feed back to the Stores ordering team in the event of any sudden or unexpected changes in use. Feed back in a timely manner to the Stores ordering team regarding any inventory item that has reached low levels of stock on hand.

Lead and direct small teams within the department in the performance of daily tasks and processes. Communicate clearly expectations related to productivity, method, quality, safety, hygiene and all other relevant criteria. Regularly liaise with and feed back to the Stores leadership team, of any problems encountered in the operation.

Maintain Stores areas to the high standards demanded of the operation. Ensure that Stores areas are kept clean, that equipment is safe for use and well maintained. Ensure that Stores personnel are working safely, operating machinery provided in the correct way and that stock is rotated, stored neatly and does not create a safety hazard. Ensure that stock is regularly checked and monitored for product expiry and that First in First Out rotation is being maintained.

Ensure that all stock transactions are accurately maintained. That system inventory matches physical stock on hand and that all receipts and issues of inventory items are captured on the ERP operating system.

Provide cover and support as required, in all areas of the daily operation within the department.

Ensure that all necessary documentation to support Stores processes – stock control, hygiene, accounts, internal controls and all other relevant documentation, is accurately completed and that records are well maintained for the required period of time.

Education & Experience

  • Completion of formal secondary education and ideally additional qualifications and training in a related field. English proficiency required.
  • A minimum of 3 years industry experience in inventory, Bonded and food warehousing, experience in working in Freezers and Chillers, experience in a forklift (with license)
  • Working knowledge of  Microsoft Office,  Outlook, Excel and Word required. Experience working with ERP/Inventory software/SAP is mandatory.

Accountabilities

Follow all relevant policies, processes and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Implement the day-to-day standard operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures. Refer to supervisor for complex tasks which may require exceptions to procedures

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1- Plan, update and supervise daily assignment of activities to ensure the smooth execution of all operations in line with SLAs and quality standards.
2- Coordinate execution of daily activities to ensure they are compliant with internal procedures and best practices to meet company standards.
3- Liaise with internal / external teams to ensure enquiries are managed on time and in a complete manner.
4- Monitor and coordinate customer service activities for Premium guests to ensure high value customers enjoy continuous best in class service
5- Plan, coordinate and supervise the execution of special services and/or the resolution of critical enquiries/complaints to ensure customers’ needs are met
6- Develop and update time schedules and shifts to ensure smooth execution of operations and compliance with internal procedures
7- Manage performance of team and 3rd party providers, if relevant, to ensure achievement of operational KPIs according to SLAs
8- Collect, review and consolidate indicators on daily operations to timely identify and suggest areas of improvements
9- Implement and monitor best practices over a wide range of assigned and emerging operations to ensure daily operations are executed effectively and eventual targets are reached
10- Suggest improvements to procedures to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
11- Monitor and report on team performance to ensure proper tracking of results’ achievements
12- Complete and document coaching and development sessions to ensure team is constantly developed

Education & Experience

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
1- Minimum Diploma (2 years or more).
2- Minimum of 5 years of work experience within Airlines/Travel Agencies.
3- Minimum of 5 years of experience with GDS, Sabre preferably (Ticketing and Reservation)
4- Understanding of Salesforce (Preferably)
5- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office
6- Arabic Language (Read, Speak and Write)

Junior Sous Chef

Synopsis

Assist Sous Chef to ensure all airline, VIP customer and non-airline production compliance’s with set standards in quality, hygiene, productivity and guest satisfaction. Train and guide junior staff and set production standards according to airline loads and orders.

Accountabilities

1    Assist in managing sectional productivity to meet the set productivity target on man minutes per meal produced.
2    Ensure food produced is of sufficient quality to deliver customer satisfaction as judged by meal tasting panel’s statistical analysis of customer feedback.
3    Ensure production levels are in line with passenger numbers to limit elimination and meal wastage
4    Liaise with relevant sections within the department to ensure effective communication and support EAS Caterings role within the Etihad menu development process in terms of the adherence of product development timelines, hosting of workshops for on board chefs and other culinary teams.
5    Work closely with the HSEQ officers to ensure that the levels of food hygiene within the operation at least meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements, Work alongside the Sous Chef to plan processes for new menus and start up airline.
6    Follow and report where necessary discrepancies in recipes to ensure maintaining accurate recipe data to allow accurate cost data to be provided to Etihad Airways and other customers.
7    Ensure that the resources of the section are used in a way that supports the development of the EAS Catering Food Services department as well as other revenue streams.

Education & Experience

Education: Secondary education and formal catering certificate from recognized international institutes.

Experience: Minimum 6 years of international experience in & catering, preferably in in-flight catering and/or food processing/manufacturing
