Strategy Analyst – (22000313)
General Responsibilities:

 Participates in the development and implementation of the Strategy and Planning section plans and budgets, in line with organizational objectives.
 Acts upon the Strategy and Planning section mandates, ensuring effective work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
 Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Strategy and Planning.

and Analysis Support:

 Gathers and analyses internal and external data and information relevant to GDMO’s operations to facilitate effective decision making.
 Conducts and secondary research to source information from public sources and industry databases using various methods to recommend new opportunities.
 Provides research and analysis on best practices and trends among peer organizations.
 Develops analytical models and tools to support required financial, operational and strategic analyses.
 Reviews and recommends improvements in GDMO’s business processes, systems, policies and procedures.
 Provides ad-hoc strategic and operational analyses as required.

Planning and Implementation Support:

 Proposes and maintains the strategic planning schedule and facilitates meetings to enable effective planning.
 Facilitates the formulation, periodic review and approval of GDMO’s mission, vision statements, core values, objectives, KPIs and initiatives.
 Cooperates with to enable effective planning and control of implementation of organizational objectives.
 Designs strategic planning templates and presentations to promote standardization and consistency according to GDMO’s standards and methodologies.
 Designs business and process tools to define as well as measure, develop and communicate goals, objectives, strategy, financial targets, and metrics for the organization.
 Cooperates with external parties including other relevant Government entities to ensure that GDMO’s plans are aligned with the local and national Governments’ objectives.
 Reviews the GDMO’s annual financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process and recommends and implements improvements to the processes.
 Provides necessary reporting on the state and progress of planning processes.

Performance Operational Support:

 Participates in the and implementation of feedback and measurement systems to assure implementation of plans at all levels of the organization.
 Reviews and validates GDMO’s long term strategic business plans and short term plans in the perspective of industry trends to provide recommendations for improving performance.
 Monitors the performance of the various departments to identify potential solutions for improving their effectiveness
and efficiency.
 Conducts root cause analysis based on conclusions from comparing GDMO’s performance with objectives and vision.
 Participates in policy development in the area of performance management.
 Recommends modifications to objectives and recommends new, challenging objectives based on review of current
performance and industry trends.

Project Management and Delivery Support:

 Supports planning and delivery of performance–related projects and change management/transformation initiatives.
 Identifies industry initiatives that GDMO could support (including leadership programs for local media and
Government–sponsored education programs).
 Provides recommendations for allocation of resources for projects and provides information to support project-related
decision making.

Strategic Support:

 Provides regular information and inputs as required to support the work of DG Office and Internal Audit.
 Supports communication of strategic plan and objectives to the staff.
 Provides coaching support to the staff on matters of performance management, including the design of KPIs and
initiatives.
 Cooperates with the Human Resources Section to develop a performance-oriented culture across GDMO.
 Facilitates department reviews and supports actions on new and emerging challenges.

Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Head of Strategy and Planning in order to meet section
objectives.

Qualifications
’s degree in Business Administration
’s degree in Business Administration is preferred
